Four Drug Trafficking Offenders Sentenced In Lyon County

Four Lyon County residents have been sentenced on drug trafficking charges.
Sheriff Brent White reports the drug trafficking offenders were formally sentenced during the last two circuit court rule days in Lyon County.
The offenders sentenced were:
43-year old Michael W. Reed of Kuttawa was sentenced to 20 years in six drug trafficking-related cases;
19-year old Jason S. Reed of Kuttawa was sentenced to 6 years in three drug trafficking-related cases;
41-year old Joseph M. Gillaspie of Kuttawa was sentenced to 10 years in two drug trafficking cases and two possession cases; and
45-year old Paula J. Hunter of Eddyville was sentenced to 10 years in five drug trafficking cases.
According to Sheriff White, the majority of these drug trafficking cases involved the distribution of methamphetamine.
Sheriff White also expressed his gratitude to 56th Circuit Commonwealth’s Attorney Carrie Ovey-Wiggins and her staff for prosecuting these cases.
He also recognized their partners Western Kentucky Violent Crimes Task Force, Eddyville Police Department, and Kentucky State Police for their cooperation and assistance during the course of the investigation of these cases.
