Couple Charged With Meth Possession And Receiving Stolen Property

A Missouri couple was arrested on multiple charges including meth possession and receiving stolen property after Princeton police responded to a call from a local retailer about the man and woman acting suspiciously.
Assistant Police Chief Shane Allison says officers responded to the call from Walmart after the couple set up camping chairs and other items in the parking lot shortly after 12:30 Wednesday morning. He reports officers made contact with 36-year old Steven M. Hays and 33-year old Dawn A. Morgan, both of St. Louis.

According to the report, officers observed that the vehicle the couple was in did not have a registration plate and an investigation revealed the vehicle was stolen out of McCracken County. The couple was also found in possession of a stolen registration plate, approximately 2.5 grams of meth, and a prescription bottle belonging to someone else containing a schedule 3 narcotic.
Hays and Morgan were taken into custody and both were charged with receiving stolen property over $1,000, theft of motor vehicle registration plate, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, and second-degree possession of a controlled substance.
