Caldwell Drug Trafficking And Drug Possession Indictments


The Caldwell County Grand Jury returned several indictments for drug possession and drug trafficking from the November 4th session.
The grand jury indicted 57-year old Jeffrey L. Hopper of Princeton for first-degree possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine by complicity, possession of drug paraphernalia by complicity, and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
Hopper was arrested by Princeton Police after officers assisted Probation and Parole officers on August 24, 2022 at a residence near the 300 block of Stone Street and found with a handgun, meth, and drug paraphernalia inside the home.
Two no true-bills were returned on Belynda Leigh Buckley of Hopkinsville. One indictment charges her with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance over 2 grams of methamphetamine – 1st offense. Buckley along with 52-year old Jody Wilbert Blake of Hopkinsville both was indicted on charges of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance – meth – 1st offense by complicity, second-degree possession of a controlled substance – Suboxone by complicity, and possession of drug paraphernalia by complicity. Blake was also indicted on charges of careless driving and first-degree persistent felony offender.
29-year old Ashley N. Coleman of Princeton was indicted on charges of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance less than 2 grams of methamphetamine – 1st offense, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance – less than 10 dosage units of Lortab – 1st offense.
Princeton Police arrested Coleman in July on warrants that stemmed from an investigation conducted by the Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force.
True bills were returned on 36-year old Steven Michael Hayes and 33-year old Dawn Angela Morgan, both of St. Louis, Missouri, on charges of receiving stolen property under $10,000 by complicity, theft of a motor vehicle registration plate by complicity; first-degree possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine by complicity, and second-degree possession of a controlled substance – Suboxone by complicity.
Hayes and Morgan were taken into custody by Princeton Police when they responded to a call from Walmart about a couple setting up camping chairs and other items in the parking lot in September 2022. According to police, an investigation determined the couple were in a vehicle reported stolen out of McCracken County, along with possessing a stolen registration plate, approximately 2.5 grams of meth, and a prescription bottle belonging to someone else containing a schedule 3 narcotic.
47-year old Matthew R. Crowe, whose address is listed as unknown on the indictment, was indicted on charges of public intoxication, first-degree possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, criminal littering, failure to comply with sex offender registration – 1st offense, and first-degree persistent felony offender.
The charges stem from September 2022 when Princeton Police officers observed Crowe riding a bicycle in the area of Tractor Supply and determined he was under the influence of intoxicants. Officers also reportedly found him in possession of meth and marijuana. Police said a records check of his address showed a different address than where he told officers he was living which violated his conditions for the sex offender registry.
