Eddyville officials say they had a good turnout at the retirement reception held Monday for Eddyville Police Chief Brook Dixon. Dixon announced in December that he was retiring after two decades of serving in law enforcement.
Dixon was appointed chief by Eddyville Mayor John Choate on March 1st of last year following the retirement of Eddyville Police Chief Jaime Green who was elected as Lyon County judge-executive.
During his law enforcement career, Dixon has been employed with the Princeton Police Department, Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office, and the Hopkinsville Police Department. He also served for about three years as chief of the Dawson Springs Police Department.
Eddyville officials said in a post on social media that Chief Dixon has been a true asset to the city and will be greatly missed.
