Princeton Man Killed in Wreck on Hopkinsville Street


A Princeton man was killed in a single-vehicle wreck on Hopkinsville Street Thursday night.
Princeton Police officers responded to the fatal collision near the 1000 block of Hopkinsville Street shortly after 7:45. According to Assistant Chief Shane Allison, an investigation revealed that 38-year old Jeffery W. Maloney was traveling west on Hopkinsville Street when, for unknown reasons, his car ran off the right side of the roadway and struck an embankment, causing his vehicle to overturn and then strike a tree in the yard of 1005 Hopkinsville Street.
Maloney was pronounced dead at the scene by Caldwell County Coroner Dewayne Trafford.
Assistant Chief Allison says a further investigation revealed Maloney was not wearing a seatbelt.
Officers were assisted on the scene by Caldwell County EMS, Princeton Fire Department, Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office, Caldwell Coroner, and Princeton Collision Reconstruction Officer.
