Princeton Man Charged with Possessing a Controlled Substance

A Princeton man was arrested for drug possession and DUI after a traffic stop on West Main Street over the weekend.
Assistant Police Chief Shane Allison reports officers stopped a vehicle driven by 20-year old Dylan Ortt for speeding shortly before 12:30 Saturday morning and could smell a strong odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle. Ortt was taken into custody after officers conducted field sobriety tests and determined he was under the influence of intoxicants.
During a search of the vehicle, officers reportedly found several open alcohol containers, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and pills identified as Oxycodone. A further investigation, according to Allison, revealed that a 16-year old passenger had consumed alcohol that Ortt had given him.
Ortt was charged with speeding, DUI, first-degree possession of a controlled substance (pills), possession of marijuana, third-degree unlawful transaction with a minor, possession of open alcohol beverage container in a motor vehicle, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
