King’s Kitchen In Caldwell Asking For Help In Late May

An organization that provides a vital service to the youth of our community during the summer months also is in need of some assistance.
Lee Anne Gilkey with The King’s Kitchen of Caldwell County explains this is the third year since the COVID pandemic that they will be handing out food boxes for its Summer Feeding Program.

click to download audioIn the past, she indicates, King’s Kitchen has distributed food boxes every week but due to events scheduled at the Southside Baptist Church Life Center, they will be distributing kid-friendly food boxes every other week to kids ages 2 to 18.


click to download audioAccording to Gilkey, they are needing help the last week of May handing out food boxes and helping move things.


click to download audioThey also need help on Tuesday, May 30th, the first day they will be distributing food boxes at the Life Center beginning at 4:00 that afternoon.


click to download audioAny church groups are also welcome to help on these days.


click to download audioMoreover, food boxes will be dispensed on June 13th and June 27th, with July 11th being the final day for the Summer Feeding Program with additional items available on that day as well.


click to download audioGilkey reports that, as of Thursday, a total of 194 children have already enrolled in the Summer Feeding Program, with a maximum capacity of 250 participants.
