A Princeton man is facing multiple charges after police responded to a reported domestic disturbance involving a handgun Monday morning.
According to Assistant Chief Shane Allison, officers responded to the disturbance at a residence near the 200 block of Garrett Street around 6:30 a.m. where witnesses stated 29-year old Dustin Faughn had pointed a handgun at the victim after assaulting her. Faughn also reportedly damaged the vehicle that the female victim was leaving in by breaking the door handle and smashing the windshield with a brick.
The report says Faughn attempted to elude police by going inside the residence where he was found hiding under a bed and a black handgun was found on the floor. Faughn was taken into custody and while being taken to the police car he jerked away and ran from officers. Allison indicates Faughn was captured within a few minutes after he was found hiding in a building.
Faughn was charged with fourth-degree assault – domestic violence minor injury, possession of a handgun by a convicted felony, first-degree criminal mischief, first-degree wanton endangerment, second-degree escape, and second-degree fleeing and evading police. He was lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.
Faughn was also reportedly served with three Caldwell County Bench Warrants charging him with failure to appear.
