Three Caldwell County Teachers Receive MCC Excellence In Teaching Award

Caldwell County Public Schools has announced that three Caldwell County teachers received the Excellence in Teaching Award from Madisonville Community College Tuesday night.
Public Relations Coordinator Lizzie Shelton with the school district says they are proud to share the teachers are:
Kara Jenkins: Kindergarten- Fifth Grade
Melinda Smith: Middle School
Magen Woods- High School
MCC officials say the Regional Education Partnership Excellence in Teaching Award recognizes teaching excellence in elementary, middle, and high school education. Public school partners from Caldwell, Crittenden, Dawson Springs, Hopkins, Muhlenberg, and Webster County districts along with Madisonville Community College and Murray State University have created the award to acknowledge the importance of teachers and the teaching profession.
The window for nominations was open from Monday, April 3 to Wednesday, April 26. To be considered, nominees must be full-time regular classroom teachers in either of the counties previously mentioned with a minimum of three years of experience. A committee comprised of educators and administrators from each district and representatives from the colleges selected the recipients.
