The “I CAN AND I WILL,” Sustainable/Affirmation Quilt Show, by Guild House member Sheri Marshall, is officially open in the Charles Alvin Lisanby Gallery in Princeton.
The Princeton Art Guild will highlight the exhibit through June 30th.
Marshall describes herself as “one of those quilters that believe up-cycling should be incorporated into quilting practices.” She says it’s “her way of assisting with environmental waste prevention.”
The quilts on display were created primarily from men’s cotton shirts, drapery fabric, and recycled sheets and tablecloths. One pattern example, the “Sleevie Wonder”, is made exclusively from long shirt sleeves.
Visitors looking for more information about Marshall’s quilts and inspirations can visit her website here.
A free Artist Reception for Marshall will be held Sunday, June 4th, at 2:00 PM at the Guild House. Light refreshments will be available.
The guild is located at 115 East Main Street, in downtown Princeton, and is open to the public Tuesday through Friday, 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
