A Memorial Day service will be held in Fredonia Monday afternoon.
Presley Lamm, the Pastor of First Baptist Church – Fredonia, said the event will start at 1:00 PM at the Fredonia Valley Veterans Memorial.
The memorial in northern Caldwell County was recently announced as a 2023 Kentucky History award winner in the “Special” category, Additionally, it was named for a “Class A Special Project” award. The memorial, dedicated last Memorial Day, is operated by the Fredonia Valley Heritage Society.
Lamm told Your News Edge last year the memorial is quite special.
Lamm added Memorial Day is a day that everyone should take the time to reflect on the sacrifices made by veterans.
The Fredonia Valley Heritage Society, Fredonia American Legion Post 103, and the City of Fredonia co-sponsored the construction of the Fredonia Valley Veterans Memorial on Cassidy Avenue.
