Caldwell Band Boosters Preparing For Upcoming Year

The Caldwell County Band Boosters met last week to talk about upcoming activities to help support the local band programs.
Band Boosters President Rachel Cummins explained the mission of their organization.

The boosters operate the concession stand for all the home high school football games and that project is well underway. Cummins added they are working on another fundraiser.

The group is looking to continue a couple of activities they began last year and are planning for the upcoming months.

Cummins said they have also ordered shirts for all marching band members featuring the theme of this year’s show. Additionally, they have ordered banners of the seniors of the band to be placed on the sideline of the football field. The group also purchased new uniforms for marching band members.

Also during the meeting, high school band director Mason Henry introduced newly hired middle school music and band director, Bonnie Stone. She comes to the local middle school after teaching at Hopkinsville High School.
Stone received her Bachelor of Music from Murray State University and is completing her teaching certificate from the University of the Cumberlands.

Stone noted she had a busy week getting settled into her new role.

Stone and her husband reside in Murray.
