Caldwell County Band Of Pride Moves To Regional Competition (w/PHOTOS)

The Caldwell County High School Band of Pride competed in the Western Kentucky Tournament of Champions held Saturday in Hopkinsville.
The competition drew bands from the surrounding area to compete in their class divisions. It was set up for each band to perform twice.
Caldwell County presented their performance at 2:15 and again at 6:15 p.m. and was the only band entered in the Class 2A section and came away as the winner in all categories of that class.
Band Director Mason Henry was pleased with the results of the first round of competition.

Henry, in his first year as lead director, feels that the band has had a good season. The band now heads to a regional competition on Saturday, October 21, at Warren East in Bowling Green.

Senior Kaydan Scott serves as the drum major this year and said it’s been a great experience for her.

Scott feels she’s had some personal growth this band season.

Sophomore Alyvia Barnwell has been a part of the color guard for three years and enjoys being a part of the band program.

Senior A.J. Morris loves the band and plans on becoming a music teacher and band director. She shared being a senior could be sad knowing it was your last year, but she feels she’s experienced the best year yet.

Saturday was a long, cool day for the band and band boosters. WPKY wishes them the very best as they prepare for regional competition.
