Significant Temperature Change In Store Next Week

Brace yourself for a cold front making its way through the area over the weekend, which will bring rain and a significant drop in temperatures for next week.
Weather Edge forecaster David Powell says some much-needed scattered light rain and a thunderstorm are possible through Friday night, followed by a strong cold front moving into the area Saturday, bringing additional rain and cooler temperatures.

As we head into next week, he indicates temperatures will “drop like a rock” with a chance of a few snowflakes on Wednesday.

Powell is forecasting some possible frost and a hard freeze on Wednesday morning.

On Halloween Tuesday, parents will want to dress their little trick-or-treaters warmly, as Powell says dry conditions and chilly temperatures are expected.
Caldwell County will have to get an inch of rain by the end of the month to avoid it being one of the top 10 driest Octobers on record.
