A Lyon County student has been charged with reportedly assaulting another student on a school bus last week.
Sheriff Brent White reports the assault occurred shortly after 3:30 Tuesday afternoon, November 7, on a Lyon County School District bus while it was transporting students on KY 93 South.
The next day, School Resource Officer Jason Young began an investigation and after reviewing video footage from the school bus it was determined a juvenile student was injured after being assaulted by another student. According to Sheriff White, this led to a 13-year old student being charged with fourth-degree assault.
Sheriff White said the child was released to the custody of a parent/guardian pending a review of this matter by the Court Designated Worker for Lyon District Court.
