Troy Vinson, 56 of Princeton

Troy Vinson, beloved member of the community of Princeton, Kentucky, passed away on December 14, 2023. Born on May 4, 1967, Troy was a dedicated individual who lived life to the fullest.

Troy’s passion for building and driving hot rods was unparalleled. He had an incredible talent for crafting these powerful machines and took immense pleasure in taking them for drives. His expertise and love for hot rods were respected by all who knew him.

In addition to his love for hot rods, Troy also enjoyed driving off-road RZRs and side by sides. The thrill of adventure captured him, and he embraced every opportunity to explore the great outdoors. Troy’s adventurous spirit was contagious and inspired those around him, especially his family.

Sports played a significant role in Troy’s life, with softball being one of his favorite pastimes.  Through softball, he formed lasting friendships filled with shared memories.

Troy is survived by his loving spouse LaDonna Vinson, who stood by his side through thick and thin.  He is also survived by his mother Donna Baker Vinson, his son Zackary Vinson of Princeton, his daughter Laci Harper (Garrett) of Princeton, his sisters Amy Elmore (Dwayne) of Paducah, Beth Vinson of Princeton, and Heather Oliver (Donny) of Portland, Tennessee, as well as his grandchildren: Miles Vinson, Grayson Harper, Laelani “Loni” Harper, Laiklyn Vinson, and Brookelynn Harper.  He is preceded in death by his father Gerald “Jay” Vinson.

Troy was known by a lot of people for many different things.  To some, he was a friend, a brother, and a neighbor, but perhaps the most cherished title he wore was that of “G-Pop” to his grandchildren.  He was also honored to be called a member of the Tater Crew Group.

Troy will be remembered for his kind heart and infectious sense of humor. He had a genuine ability to lift spirits with his jokes and laughter. His presence made any gathering more joyful and memorable.

His passing leaves a void in the hearts of family, friends, and the community he cherished. Troy Vinson will forever be remembered for his zest for life, his passion for building and driving hot rods, his love for adventure, and his devotion to his loved ones.

In honor of Troy’s memory, let us celebrate his life and the countless ways he brightened our lives. May he rest in eternal peace.

A private graveside service is scheduled with a Celebration of Life to be held at Broken B Ranch on Archie Ortt Rd on Sunday, December 17, 2023 at 4:00 pm.  Goodman Funeral Home in Princeton is honored to be serving the Vinson family.
