Two men incarcerated at the state penitentiary in Eddyville were served warrants Thursday on charges of attempted murder and complicity to promote contraband.
According to Sheriff Brent White, 37-year old John Maggard of McRoberts and 39-year old Orie Spence of Tomahawk were both served Lyon County Indictment Warrants Thursday on charges of criminal attempt to commit murder, first-degree promoting contraband by complicity, and persistent felony offender.
Sheriff White said Maggard and Spence are inmates in the Kentucky State Penitentiary, where they will remain lodged pending further court action in Lyon Circuit Court.
No other information about the charges was released.
