The Princeton Art Guild has announced the “Color My World” exhibit opened in the Charles Alvin Lisanby Gallery on Tuesday.

Art Guild Executive Director Melissa Peek says the solo exhibit features the work of Guild House member Sally Bosco of Eddyville.

Bosco shared that she has been in photography for many years, and while living in southeast Texas she decided to try to “pump up” her photography by adding oil paint details.

According to Bosco, she began with a class in oil painting. She enjoyed it so much, she became friends with the instructor. Over the next few years, Bosco said the instructor taught her about watercolors, light reflection and several other good tips including plein-air. As a side note, Bosco suggested anyone interested in all mediums to start with watercolor — as you learn to go with the flow because it’s difficult to change directions of ideas once you have started. But, Bosco added, she loved the experience.

During Bosco’s time in Texas, she was married and signed her paintings as S A Reed. In 2014, she said her husband passed away and she moved from Texas to Illinois where she continued to paint and tried many different styles and mediums, including acrylic, pour painting, string art and resin. Boscoe said it has been a lot of fun to experience with all the different options available.

In 2019, Bosco said she married a wonderful man and they moved to Kentucky. Of course, her name changed and her signature on her art is now S Bosco.

Bosco indicates that “nature in the way, landscapes, flowers and sunset/sunrise” is her main focus. She said the array of bright colors that they bring to the world excites her.

In summary, Bosco expressed her hope that you find pleasure in the artworks showcased at her exhibit at the Pennyrile Art Guild.

Peek said Bosco’s artwork will be showcased in the Charles Alvin Lisanby Gallery through February 29th. She said an artist reception to honor Bosco will be held on Saturday, January 20th, from 2 pm until 3:30 pm.

The Guild House is open Tuesday-Friday, 11 am to 2 pm. Follow the Princeton Art Guild, Inc. Facebook page for special Saturday openings, extended hours during the children’s workshops, and closings.
