Princeton Man Charged with Meth Possession After Dropping Drugs in Store

A Princeton man was charged with meth possession after police received a report that a customer allegedly dropped a bag of drugs on the floor at a local business.

According to Princeton Police, officers responded to the report at Dollar General around 5:45 Tuesday evening. An investigation reportedly revealed through video surveillance that 55-year old Keith Harris was in the store and when he reached into his pocket a plastic baggie fell onto the floor. Police said the baggie contained 4.2 grams of suspected methamphetamine.

Harris was located by officers on Park Avenue and taken into custody. He was charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance – 2nd offense methamphetamine. Police said he was also charged with possession of marijuana that was found on him at the time of his arrest.

Harris was booked into the Caldwell County Jail.
