Caldwell County Firefighters Battle Five Fires in Two Days

Local firefighters have worked five fires in two days involving fields, an outbuilding, a renovated school bus, and a vehicle.

Assistant Fire Chief Tim Cook with the Princeton-Caldwell County Fire Department, tells WPKY’s News Edge that more than a dozen firefighters responded to a field fire involving several acres on Guy Bell Road.

As firefighters were returning to the station, Cook says they were dispatched to a possible structure fire on Briarfield Road.

Around 4:30 Monday morning, according to Cook, firefighters were sent to a bus fire at 705 Varmintrace Road that also involved a garage.

click to download audioHe indicated that the scene was turned over to the Princeton Police Department. As reported by WPKY’s News Edge, Princeton Police arrested and charged 66-year old Scott Agnew, of Princeton, with arson and public intoxication.

Around lunchtime on Monday, local firefighters were requested by Crittenden County to assist with a large field fire at Mott City.
