Caldwell 4-H Updates on Livestock Judging, 4-H Camp and Photography Contest

Caldwell 4-H Agent Rhonda Jewell on Wednesday shared an update on the organization’s livestock judging program, 4-H Camp, and the photography contest.

Jewell reported that the Winter Wonderland Photography Contest concluded in February and featured three different divisions.

Jewell also mentioned that practice sessions for livestock judging started on Wednesday at the Caldwell County Extension Office.

click to download audioShe added that practice sessions will also be held on local farms.

Jewell said that children interested in participating in livestock judging simply need to have a curiosity about cows, sheep, goats, and pigs and a desire to learn more about them.

click to download audioThe children will have practice sessions on Wednesday afternoons until the end of the school year, after which they will have full-day practice sessions.

She mentioned that Kevin Laurent serves as the coach for the livestock judging team.

click to download audioFurthermore, Jewell provided an update on the 4-H Camp. She said the deadline to register is quickly approaching.
