Cedric Gamblin, 13, of Dawson Springs

Cedric Ray Gamblin, 13, of Dawson Springs, KY, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2024.

He was born on May 28, 2010, in Madisonville, KY, to Megan Thatcher Gamblin and Mitchell Gamblin. He was an 8th grade student at Dawson Springs Independent School District. He loved music and was a member of the Dawson Springs Middle School Band where he played the trombone. He enjoyed drawing, art, writing, and playing video games. Cedric attended First Christian Church in Earlington, KY, and Pritchett’s Chapel in Madisonville.

He was preceded in death by his infant sister, Carleigh Hope Gamblin; grandparents, Janice Darlene Chandler Franklin, Edward Wayne Gamblin II, Mark Franklin, and Alvin and Judy Thatcher; great-grandparents, Elmer Lee Alexander, Georgia Thomas, Hollis Chandler, Edward Wayne Gamblin, Annetta Gamblin, and Leo Franklin.

Survivors include his mother, Megan Thatcher Gamblin of Cadiz, KY; father, Mitchell Gamblin of Dawson Springs; brother, Maverick Buijk; sister, Paisley; step-sisters, Samantha and Olivia Buijk; great-grandparents, Barbara Alexander of Madisonville, KY, and Evelyn Franklin of Madisonville; aunts and uncles, Christina Thatcher, Greg Thatcher, and Bradlee Gamblin and Kaylee Stone; several cousins; and his pet cats, Puss-in-Boots, Nala, and Goose.

A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 28, 2024, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home with Pastor Kim Hudson and Pastor Steve Terry officiating. A private burial will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Madisonville.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until the funeral hour on Thursday at the funeral home.
