Ohio Man Indicted for Manslaughter in Fatal Caldwell County Wreck

A semi-driver involved in a wreck on Interstate 69 in Caldwell County that claimed the life of a Nortonville man has been indicted for manslaughter.

During the April session, the Caldwell County Grand Jury returned a true bill on Tommy Robinson of Cincinnati, Ohio on charges of second-degree manslaughter and DUI.

According to state police, a preliminary investigation revealed that on August 9, 2023, 23-year old Erik Putman was driving northbound in the left lane on I-69 when his pickup truck struck the rear of a semi that was stopped in the same lane due to mechanical problems near the 86-mile marker.

Putman was pronounced dead at the scene by the Caldwell County Coroner. Robinson was uninjured in the crash.
