The Cave-in-Rock Ferry is open and resumed service at 5 pm Wednesday after being temporarily closed due to high winds.

The Cave-in-Rock Ferry is temporarily closed after halting service around 11:00 Wednesday morning due to high winds.
According to District 1 spokesman Keith Todd with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, winds were reported out of the west at 20 mph with gusts to 29 mph. He says the forecast indicates winds will remain elevated through the day.
The ferry will remain closed until further notice.
The Cave-in-Rock Ferry will provide timely notice when winds drop to a point where service can resume.
