Sheriff’s Office Investigating Burglary and Hit-and-Run Incidents in Lyon County

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary complaint and a separate hit-and-run incident that occurred last week.

According to Sheriff Brent White, a deputy responded to a burglary complaint on Ky 810 North around 6:00 Friday evening, He says the investigation revealed that sometime in the past few months, an unknown person, or persons, forced their way into a garage and stole approximately $8,500 worth of items including tools, Matchbox collectible cars, and a Harley Davidson golf cart.

In a separate case, Sheriff White says a deputy responded to a hit-and-run collision on Lake Drive in Kurrawa around 2:00 Saturday afternoon. The investigation reportedly revealed an unidentified vehicle was pulling out of Lake Drive onto Lake Barkley Drive when it clipped the rear bumper of a pickup truck driven by 45-year old Jason Hayes of Paducah. He says no injuries were reported and the other vehicle’s driver stopped and told Hayes he would return shortly; however, he fled and didn’t return to the scene nor provide the other driver with his identity or insurance.
