Community Mourns the Loss of Beloved Educator R.W. Oliver

The Caldwell County community is mourning the passing of beloved teacher, administrator, and coach R.W. “Ronnie” Oliver.

Oliver was more than a former educator, he was indeed a friend and mentor to many students and coworkers over the years. Oliver graduated from Fredonia High School and earned his higher education at Murray State University. He returned to begin his teaching career at Fredonia in 1971 where he taught multiple subjects. He continued teaching social studies at the Caldwell County middle school then at the Butler campus and on to the current middle school. His career then led him to be named the assistant principal at the middle school for 2 years and to the position of Principal where he served for 4 years before retiring in 1998. He also coached wrestling at the high school level and worked for WPKY Radio and was a member of Southside Baptist Church.
