Beloved Caldwell County kindergarten teacher Holly Peters received the prestigious Mr. Henry Smith Award during the school district’s Closing Day breakfast.

According to Public Relations Coordinator Lizzie Wynn, the award honors Mr. Henry Smith, a long-time employee of Caldwell County Schools who throughout his tenure served in various roles at the high school, middle school, and Central Office. She says Smith had a remarkable gift: the ability to relate to others. Regardless of his role or location in the district, Wynn says Smith always took time to make those around him feel valued and treated others with respect and dignity, and because of this, his legacy continues.

She had both of my boys and helped them transition to kindergarten, creating a love for school.”
