Caldwell Judge-Executive Young Says Tornado Touched Down North of Princeton

Caldwell County Judge-Executive Kota Young believes a tornado touched down when a line of dangerous thunderstorms moved through the county Sunday night.

Judge Young said the tornado touched down north of Princeton.

Caldwell County Emergency Management reported after the tornado touched down that there were three minor injuries, along with numerous trees down across multiple roads making travel impossible.

As of 10:45 pm, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is reporting the following road blockages:

KY 91 by at multiple locations down to one lane due to downed power lines
KY 91 blocked by high water at 19 mm
KY 139 north blocked by high water
KY 293 at KY 119 blocked by downed power lines
KY 641 blocked at the 2 mm by downed trees and power lines

As of 10:30 pm, Pennyrile Electric was reporting 824 power outages in Caldwell County, while Kenergy is reporting 802 outages and KU/LG&E was reporting 810 power outages.

Shortly before 9:00 pm, Kentucky Emergency Management reported 20 homes were damaged in the the Charleston area near Dawson Springs from a possible tornado touchdown. Two Christian County Rescue crews were responding to the area to assist.
