Eddyville Fire Dept has opened up a new opportunity for youth looking to make a difference in their community, and possibly kickstarting a career as a Firefighter! Eddyville Fire Dept JRFF Coordinator, LT Jason Crouch and Eddyville Firefighter Amanda Crouch joined WPKY’s “Coffee Talk with Tess” this week, to tell us all about the amazing new Eddyville Fire Dept Jr Firefighter Academy! Plus, they detail what goes into firefighting, let us take a peek behind the siren and even learn great tips you can use to potentially save your home and family during a fire.  Listen to their visit below.
Lyon County youth 15–17 years of age are encouraged to join the Eddyville Fire Department’s “Jr Firefighter Academy”! Learn life saving techniques like CPR, fire behavior, rescue techniques, hose operations and so much more. Don’t worry parents, safety always comes first and gear will be provided.  The opportunity will even follow youth after they turn 18 as they work toward graduating into full firefighter roles, and receive mentoring and aid in becoming a career firefighter and EMT.  Spots are limited. To apply, email your name, age, phone number, address, and a short message about why you want to join, and what your goals are for the future to:
