A former mayor of Fredonia passed away over the weekend.
According to Morgan’s Funeral Home, Herbert Michael “Mike” Board died Saturday in Evansville, Indiana, at the age of 75. He was born in Princeton and formerly served as a teller at Farmers Bank before becoming a loan officer and eventually vice president of the local bank. He also served as mayor of Fredonia from 2004 to 2017.
Board was also a member of White Sulphur Baptist Church, where he was a Sunday school teacher and a deacon.
