Raymond Owen Wallace was a beloved father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend whose life journey began on February 18, 1958, in Caldwell County, Kentucky, and peacefully ended on April 19, 2025, in Grandview, Indiana.
Raymond was raised under the loving guidance of his mother, Dorothy Jean Massey Wallace Beckort. In addition, Raymond inherited an enduring work ethic from his father, Raymond Stanley Wallace. Alongside his brother, Rodney Alan Wallace, Raymond built a strong bond of both family and friendship. He was the member of an extended family that included his daughter, Audrey Rae Wallace of Evansville, Indiana, his son, Jerad Wallace, and his wife, Hannah Elber of Mt. Vernon, Indiana, and granddaughter, Emrie Grace Wallace-Wykoff. He also leaves behind his uncle Dennis Massey and his wife, Debbie Massey of Princeton, aunts, Lillian Hale, Daphne Wallace and Lavon Wallace, numerous nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Raymond’s roots trace back to his paternal grandparents, Calvin Owen and Ina Ethel Wallace, and maternal grandparents, Roy Massey, Sr. and Shirley Mae Massey, whose memories preceded him in death, along with his father, Raymond Stanley Wallace, and stepfather, Jim Beckort, brother, Rodney Alan Wallace, step-sisters, Cheryl Simons and Cindy Flores.
Raymond graduated from Caldwell County High School in 1976 and further honed his skills by graduating from Nashville Auto-Diesel College. His education laid the groundwork for a successful career as a dedicated mechanic for American Electric Power in Rockport, IN.
Raymond’s interests were many and varied. In his younger years, he was known for hauling hay and working in the tobacco fields. Later, he enjoyed fishing, dove hunting, boating, and tinkering in the garage. Raymond found his greatest peace at home with his family and dog, nurturing his expansive vegetable garden, and late nights spent by the bonfire.
Raymond was a member of Lincoln Hills Baptist Church in Rockport, IN and a former member of the Outboard Boating Club of Evansville, IN.
Private visitation and graveside services will be held with Morgan’s Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in the Blue Spring Cemetery.
