Caldwell Special Olympics Excels at Regional Track Meet, Celebrates New Signs

Athletes from the Caldwell County Special Olympics showcased their talents at the Regional Track and Field competition in Calloway County over the weekend, while last week the community celebrated their state championship basketball win with newly erected signs.

Roy Gene Rogers said that athletes, coaches, chaperones, and parents traveled to Calloway County over the weekend, where 17 students took part in the regional competition.

click to download audioRogers stated that two signs were installed last week to honor the Caldwell County Special Olympic teams for their participation the state basketball tournament and their victory in securing the state title.

click to download audioRogers stated that the Caldwell County Special Olympics, which began 11 years ago, has experienced significant growth over the years. He said thanks to its strong reputation, it has attracted athletes from various counties, including Caldwell, Crittenden, Hopkins, and Union.
