
Despite the chill and drizzle on Saturday morning, the Princeton Rotary Club’s commitment to community enhancements shone through as they placed new benches around town, creating inviting spaces for residents and visitors to relax and enjoy the downtown area.
Chris Burton, the Rotary Club Service Committee Chair and General Manager of the Princeton Electric Plant Board, shared that they received a grant to fund the benches, which Club members assembled.
According to Club Treasurer Pam Brunelle, the Princeton Rotary Club obtained a $5,000 grant, with the Club contributing $2,000 and receiving a $3,000 reimbursement.
Following a collaboration with Princeton Mayor Brock Thomas, a fellow Rotarian, seven benches were strategically placed in various downtown locations to welcome community members and visitors.

Burton explained that the Princeton Rotary Club is dedicated to making the community a better place for everyone.
This is just one of several community service projects spearheaded by the Princeton Rotary Club. Another project close to the Club’s heart is the Build-A-Bed program, which supplies beds to families who might not otherwise have access to one.
The Princeton Rotary Club meets every Tuesday at noon at the Majestic Steak House on US 62 West, and visitors are always welcome to attend.
This Tuesday at noon, the local Rotary Club will host the West Regional Speech Contest at the George Coon Public Library auditorium. Isabella “Boo” Burton, a member of the Princeton Rotary Homeschool Interact Club, will compete after her victory at the Sectional 1 competition hosted by the Mayfield Rotary Club last month. The winner of the West Regional Speech Contest will advance to the District 6710 speech contest, which will take place on May 17 in Hopkinsville during the district conference.
