Malcolm R. Lane, age 78, of Eddyville, KY, passed away on May 5, 2025, at his home.
Malcolm was born on October 26, 1946, in the Golden Pond Area of Between the Rivers to the late Nita Hazel Bonner Lane and Barnel Preston Lane. A dedicated worker, Malcolm spent many years as a Chemical Operator at Pennwalt/Arkema in Calvert City. His passion for service was evident through his active involvement at Joppa Masonic Lodge #167, serving in many offices, including secretary and master. In addition to his professional achievements, Malcolm was a gifted fishing guide and proud owner of “Hook, Line, and Sinker”, where he merged his love for the outdoors with his entrepreneurial spirit. His admiration for nature was complemented by his fondness for flowers and music, bringing joy and harmonious melodies to those around him. Malcolm was a member of Fairview Methodist Church in Eddyville, Kentucky.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Jane Taylor Lane; three daughters, Julie (Andy) Todd of Calvert City, Ashley (Sean) Henley of Paducah and Kirby (Chad) Cornwell of Paducah; son, Lynn (Misty) Lane of Benton; eight grandchildren, Heath Lane, Laken Womble, Garett Todd, Cecilia Henley, S.J. Henley, Ava Baker, Max Cornwell and Nathan Huston Lane; step grandchildren, Tevin and Tanner Gregory; three great-grandchild.
In addition to his parents, Malcolm is preceded in death by two sisters, Lorene Cassity and Delpha Rhoades; three brothers, Frank Lane, Howard Lane and Sam Lane.
Visitation for Malcolm Lane will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Lakeland Funeral Home in Eddyville.
Masonic Rites will be held at 1:00 PM.
Funeral services will follow with Rev. Jed Ramey, Rev. Chuck Ladd and Rev. Shelly Caulder officiating.
