PRINCETON ART GUILD WELCOMES NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

The Princeton Art Guild is proud to announce the appointment of Joe Duncan as its new Executive Director. A native of Western Kentucky, Duncan brings a decade of experience in the museum and arts field, with a career spanning exhibition development, community engagement, and nonprofit leadership.

In stepping into the role, Duncan shared deep gratitude for outgoing director Melissa Peek, whose leadership and dedication have shaped the Guild’s journey over the past 10 years.

“Melissa has poured tremendous heart, energy, and care into the Guild,” Duncan said. “She’s kept the creative fire burning through changing times, and I’m honored to build on her work as we step into the next chapter.”

Duncan envisions the Guild as a home for the community—a place where everyone, artist or not, can see themselves reflected and welcomed.

“I believe the creative life of a town is a lot like the story of stone soup,” Duncan said. “The Guild is the pot—but it’s the people who bring the ingredients that help make it a rich and satisfying meal. Every story, every talent, every dream matters. My vision is for the Guild to be a place where anyone can feel at home—where creativity is an accessible experience that can lift the spirit of our entire community.”

Duncan plans to focus his first year on strengthening partnerships, expanding opportunities for members and residents to engage with the arts, and ensuring the Guild’s historic home continues to serve as a living landmark for imagination and connection.
