William Larry Stallins passed away on the morning of May 19th, 2025, at the age of 86.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Sallye Clayton Stallins, his son, Monty Stallins (Laura), his grandchildren Ellen Hayes (Ethan) and Jack Stallins (Olivia), two great-grandsons, his sister Debbie Ramage, and several nieces and nephews.
Larry was born to William Shirley and Louard Young Stallins on November 4th, 1938, in rural Caldwell County, Kentucky. Larry, or “Pop,” as his family called him, lived a life full of love. A retired semi-truck driver, he loved to drive, whether it was an eighteen-wheeler, a combine, or a pickup. He loved telling stories. He loved reading – especially mysteries and history books about the Old West. He loved gardening and bowling. He loved taking care of children. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially the love of his life, Sallye. The only equal measure to the love he had for his family was the love we have for him, and it is this love that we will so sorely miss.
Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM CST on Saturday, May 24, 2025. The funeral will begin at 1 PM CST, with Rev. Monty Stallins officiating. The visitation and service will be at Morgan’s Funeral Home, 301 West Washington St, Princeton, KY 42445.
Pallbearers will include: Michael Crook, Alan Gil, Robert Lemon, Corky Mendenhall, Lonnie Qualls, Chris Ramage, Bobby Stallins, and Jack Stallins.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in Larry’s memory to Southside Baptist Church, 205 Nichols Street, Princeton, KY 42445, where he was a long-time member and devoted Sunday School teacher for the 4-year-old class.
