It was an exciting Friday in Caldwell County as community leaders and officials broke ground at the Princeton-Caldwell County Industrial Park, marking the start of construction in a few weeks on a new Build-Ready site for Industrial Building #4.
Governor Andy Beshear announced in November that the Caldwell County Fiscal Court, on behalf of the Princeton-Caldwell County Industrial Development Authority, had secured $4 million in funding from the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority to support the new Build-Ready site—Industrial Building #4—part of an $8 million project.
In March, Caldwell County Judge-Executive Kota Young introduced the Build-Ready site project, following a series of special meetings by the Caldwell County Fiscal Court, the Princeton City Council, and the Princeton-Caldwell County Industrial Development Authority that set the groundwork for moving forward with a new industrial facility.
On Friday morning, county and city officials, along with representatives from the Industrial Development Authority, Lake Barkley Partnership for Economic Development, Pennyrile Area Development District, Planters Bank, and others gathered at the site to break ground.
After the sod was turned, Judge Young shared his enthusiasm about the project’s positive economic impact, noting it’s the first industrial building to be constructed in the Industrial Park in nearly thirty years.
