The Princeton Optimist-Kiwanis Radio Auction is off to a good start, but organizers say plenty of opportunities remain for the community to help support local youth in Caldwell and Lyon counties as the event continues throughout the week.
Longtime Optimist Club member George Kilgore reported that nearly 30 items were sold on the auction’s opening night, bringing in close to $1,000, with Edge Media Group President and CEO Beth Mann noting it was a solid trial run to kick off the week of fundraising.

Kilgore also expressed his appreciation to T-Mobile for providing the phones that volunteers used to answer calls from community members placing bids.
Mann emphasized that now is an ideal opportunity for the community to show support for local businesses and local youth.

Kilgore also invited any youth or youth groups that have benefited from Optimist Club funding to visit the auction and share their experiences with the community.
