Carolyn Ann Beck Sutton, 84, of Lyon County, passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at River’s Bend Retirement Community.
She was born on December 28, 1940, to her late parents, Elbert Beck and Kathryn Wilson Beck. She was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church. She enjoyed going to church, reading her Bible and spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed the monthly luncheons to local restaurants with her 1959 Lyon County classmates. Carolyn never missed a game that her children or grandchildren were playing, regardless of the game’s location. Her most cherished title was “Gran Gran” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She worked at Beckett’s Plumbing as well as Lyon County Schools as a substitute teacher and as an instructional assistant.
Carolyn is survived by her husband Thomas Leon Sutton of 61 years; two sons, Quin (Amye) Sutton and Brian Sutton, both of Eddyville; one grandson, Warron (Colie) Sutton of Eddyville; two granddaughters, Auburn (Jeremy) Wheeler of Mattoon and Taylyn (Mason) Williams of Eddyville; six great-grandchildren, Maelynn Puckett, Colt Boone Sutton, Beck Sutton, Cash Sutton, Maci Williams and Mary Grace Williams. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim Beck and Bobby Beck.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 9, 2025, at Lakeland Funeral Home with Bro. Jay Brown officiating. Burial will follow in New Bethel Cemetery in Lyon County.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at Lakeland Funeral Home.
