At Monday’s Princeton City Council meeting, Caldwell County Animal Shelter Director Kevin Lane announced an award for the shelter and an upcoming adoption event.
Lane shared that the shelter received the 2024 Animal Shelter No Kill Award on Monday, crediting support from the city and county for making it possible.
click to download audioAccording to Lane, the award was from Best Friends Animal Society.
Established in 1991, the Best Friends Animal Society is a leading American nonprofit organization dedicated to animal welfare, with a mission to end the killings of dogs and cats in shelters across the nation.
Lane said that in order to receive the award, the shelter must maintain a 90% no-kill rate.
He also announced an upcoming adoption and donation drive set for Saturday, June 28, at Princeton City Hall.
