The Caldwell County Animal Shelter has received a grant to help support the spaying and neutering of cats throughout the community.
Animal Control Officer Kevin Lane says the shelter was presented with a check in the amount of $14,095 from the Judy Kerstetter Animal Trust Fund on behalf of Safe Haven KY. He says the funding will support spaying and neutering over 225 cats in Caldwell County.
Lane expressed his appreciation to Miss Kerstetter for leaving an endowment benefitting the animals of Caldwell County, noting “she was very much a lover of all animals, but her love was for her cat.” He also thanked Safe Haven KY for entrusting the animal shelter to oversee such a huge undertaking.
According to Lane, the spay and neuter program for cats will begin in the next week or so.
