
A Princeton man is facing multiple charges after a fire at a local senior assisted living facility on Wednesday.
Assistant Princeton Police Chief Shane Allison reports that officers were sent to a fire at Highland Homes, located at 219 Stevens Avenue, just after 1:00 p.m. Wednesday. According to Chief Allison, the Princeton Fire Department extinguished the fire, and fortunately, no injuries were reported.
He says the investigation revealed one of the residents, 54-year-old Michael T. Newton, intentionally set a shirt on fire and placed it on his bed.
According to police, Newton was taken into custody and charged with first-degree arson and first-degree wanton endangerment. He was lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.
