Residents in the northern part of Caldwell County have been impacted by a water main failure that resulted in a loss of water service during a warm 4th of July weekend.

Caldwell County Water District Superintendent announced Saturday morning that the district had suffered a water main break in a creek in the Kentucky 293 North area. A second break was reported in the area of Kentucky 70.

Saturday afternoon Kirby updated the situation, noting that all water district customers out Kentucky 293 would be out of water Saturday and Saturday night.

Additionally, officials add that a Boil Water Advisory will be in effect for all customers on Kentucky 293 North and roads connecting to it, and that additional areas would likely be added to the advisory. The recommendation is that if your water has been off, you are under the boil advisory.

As a result of the situation, Emergency Management Director Joey McCaslin announced a bottled water “Donation and Pickup” location for Northern Caldwell County Water customers without water would be located on the northern end of Caldwell County for convenient pickup as needed at Sugar Creek Baptist Church, in two bins located in front of the fellowship hall doors.
