Man Charged with Stealing Merchandise from Princeton Store

arrest-2-16

A Calloway County man was arrested after authorities say he tried to steal merchandise from a Princeton store Tuesday afternoon.

Assistant Princeton Police Chief Shane Allison says officers responded to Falder’s Supply Store shortly before 3:30 p.m., where they made contact with 48-year-old John Thomure of Hazel in the parking lot.

He says an investigation found that Thomure had purchased a mailbox from the store; however, he had placed additional merchandise in the box to avoid paying for it. The merchandise was recovered and returned to the store.

Thomure was taken into custody and charged with shoplifting over $1,000. He was lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.
