The Boil Water Advisory affecting the Kentucky 293 North area in Caldwell County has been lifted after a series of water leaks disrupted service over the Fourth of July holiday weekend.
Caldwell County Water District General Manager Cody Kirby announced Saturday afternoon that the advisory was lifted at about 1:30 p.m., following confirmation that water samples were clean. He added that customers may now use their water for drinking and other purposes without boiling.
Customers in the area of KY 293 North have been under a boil advisory since Saturday morning, July 5, when Kirby announced a water main break in a creek and another leak near Ky 70, leaving customers without water through Sunday morning, July 6.
Water troubles continued for customers in northern Caldwell County through Monday morning, July 7, when the Water District reported yet another water leak, just hours after announcing that earlier outages had been resolved.
Kirby later announced on July 7 update that the leak had been repaired and service had been restored, with customers affected by the outages remaining under a boil water advisory until further notice. That notice is as lifted Saturday afternoon, July 12–one week since the initial leak was discovered.
