Walter Bingham, 86, of Kuttawa

Walter Hayes Bingham, a cherished brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on July 16, 2025, in Kuttawa, KY, at the age of 86. Born on November 8, 1938, in Louisville, KY, Walter lived a life marked by dedication to his family, his work, and his passions.

Walter graduated from Southern High School in Louisville, KY, where he formed lifelong friendships and developed a strong work ethic that would define his career. He spent many years as a skilled Elevator Installer, a trade that took him to various locations and allowed him to leave his mark on the skyline of cities. His work was not just a job but a craft he honed with precision and pride.

Walter attended Donaldson Baptist Church, where he found spiritual solace and a community of faith that supported him throughout his life. His commitment to his religion was evident in the way he lived his life, always striving to embody the values he held dear.

Walter’s interests were as varied as they were engaging. An avid hunter, fisherman, and marksman, he found joy in the great outdoors, respecting nature’s beauty and the thrill of the sport. His love for reading kept him constantly learning, while his passion for traveling took him on many adventures where he gathered stories and memories to share. Walter’s fascination with antique cars and military history was well-known, and he could spend hours discussing the intricacies of a classic engine or a pivotal historical battle.

He supported charitable and environmental organizations, believing in the importance of giving back and preserving the world for future generations. Walter’s generosity and kindness were evident in every aspect of his life, and his legacy of caring for others will continue to inspire those who knew him.

Walter was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 43 years, Martha Jane Bugg Bingham, his parents, Ellis Bingham, Sr. and Beulah Bingham, and his brothers, Michael and Richard Bingham, as well as his brother-in-law, James “Jim” Bugg.

His memory will be lovingly remembered by his sister-in-law, Mary Ann Bugg of Princeton; brother, Ellis Bingham, Jr.; niece, Tambi Bugg (Brad) Houchins; nephew, Wesley (Kelly) Bugg; and his great-nieces and nephews, Kaylee Sweet, Traven Sweet, Logan (Makayla) Sweet, Kate Sweet, Keightley Bugg, and Kora Bugg.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm Sunday, July 20, 2025, at Morgan’s Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, July 20, 202,5 at Morgan’s Funeral Home. Burial will follow with military honors at Meeks Cemetery.
