The Princeton City Council discussed a proposed ordinance on special-purpose vehicles Monday night, but voted to table the matter until their next meeting.
Before any discussion about the ordinance that would allow special-purpose vehicles within the city limits, Mayor Brock Thomas asked Princeton Police Chief Chris King to share his perspective. Chief King emphasized that public safety remains his top concern and stated he does not support allowing special-purpose vehicles. However, he noted that if the council chose to move forward, he would recommend implementing specific restrictions on their use.
Chief King also recommended some other restrictions.

Mayor Thomas said the Council had three options regarding the ordinance.
