A Princeton man is facing several charges after being taken into custody Thursday morning, following a police investigation into an assault reported earlier this week.

According to Assistant Princeton Police Chief Shane Allison, 48-year-old Andrew Tinsley was arrested around 10:15 a.m. on a Caldwell County warrant, charging him with first-degree strangulation, second-degree criminal mischief, menacing, and fourth-degree assault.

Police report the charges are the result of an investigation on July 21, when officers responded to an assault complaint at a home in the 300 block of North Franklin Street. They said the investigation revealed that Tinsley assaulted and choked the victim and caused damage to a vehicle during the incident.

Tinsley was lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.
