Elizabeth “DeeDee” Childress, 54, of Princeton

Elizabeth “DeeDee” Childress, 54, passed away on Friday, July 25, 2025, at her home in Princeton. She was born in Caldwell County, Kentucky, on September 6, 1970, to her father, David Arnold Childress and late mother, Betty Carolyn Childress.

For over 18 years, DeeDee was the heart of the local KFC in Princeton, where she served as the General Manager. Beyond her professional life, DeeDee’s passions were as vibrant as her personality. She was a member of the Northside Baptist Church. DeeDee’s love for the great outdoors was a constant source of joy. She found serenity in the fields of Kentucky, seeking adventure in deer hunting and the tranquility of reeling in catfish. Her enthusiasm for riding side-by-sides, exploring exotic locales on cruises, or simply basking in the sun reflected a woman who embraced life’s journeys.

Growing up, DeeDee took pleasure in sports and was particularly fond of soccer, a game that taught her the values of teamwork and perseverance. She had an affinity for the simpler pleasures, such as the heartwarming episodes of “Little House On The Prairie,” which aligned with her appreciation for strong family values. Above all, DeeDee cherished her family-the heart of her world. Her love extended to her furry companions, sharing life’s journey with her adored dogs.

In addition to her father, DeeDee is survived by her companion, Ronald Harper; daughter, Sarah (Kyle) Martin of Marion; step-daughter, Madison Harper of Princeton; son, Jesse (Chelsea) Sherrill, II of Princeton; sister, Tammy Childress of Princeton; two brothers, David (Amy) Childress, II and Daniel (Misty) Childress, both of Princeton; five grandchildren, Drake Martin, Jaden Boyd, Gaige Sherrill, Korbin Sherrill, Freya Sherrill; three nephews, Jack Childress, Roger Childress, Gary Knight.

In addition to her mother, DeeDee was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Kevin Crowell.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Morgan’s Funeral Home with Bro. David Royalty officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Caldwell County.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 28, 2025, at Morgan’s Funeral Home.
