The annual Dotson Days celebration is just around the corner, taking place August 8-10 at Dotson Park in Princeton, with a variety of events and activities planned to bring the community together.
Paulette Gray with Community Disciples says Dotson Days began many years ago as a school reunion.
click to download audioShe explained that Community Disciples took the lead on organizing Dotson Days because it was too much for the Reunion Committee to manage alone, and their goal was to turn it into an event for the whole community.
Gray shared that Friday’s activities will begin with flag football and a back-to-school bash from three to four in the afternoon.
click to download audioShe mentioned that while they ask parents to accompany students, no child will be turned away if they come without a parent.
There will be additional activities taking place on Friday as well.
click to download audioGray said Bingo will kick off at 10:00 Saturday morning under the pavilion, offering plenty of great prizes. In addition, vendors will be on-site, including the Community Medical Center’s new Mobile Unit.
click to download audioAt noon, a program featuring guest speaker Tony Copeland will take place, and music from D.J. Sevenstylz in the park from 12:30 until 10:00 Saturday night.
Dotson Days will conclude at 3:00 Sunday afternoon with Praise in the Park, featuring Pastor Perry Boyd and family.
Gray invited everyone to come out for Dotson Days, enjoy the park, and join in a day of fun and community spirit.
